Who Telepsychiatry Is For

Telepsychiatry may be appropriate for adults seeking support with depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood symptoms, sleep concerns, stress, burnout, or substance use-related concerns.

Telepsychiatry may be a good fit for patients who are clinically stable, able to participate in video visits, located in Maryland during the appointment, and able to follow the treatment plan safely.

What to Expect

A telepsychiatry appointment is similar to an in-person psychiatric visit. We review symptoms, current medications, treatment history, medical conditions, safety concerns, goals, side effects, and progress since the last visit.

Initial visits may involve a more detailed evaluation. Follow-up visits usually focus on symptom changes, medication response, side effects, functioning, and next steps.

When In-Person or Higher-Level Care May Be Needed

Telepsychiatry is not appropriate for every situation. Some patients may need in-person evaluation, urgent care, emergency services, intensive outpatient treatment, hospitalization, or coordination with other medical professionals.
